Buried in the churchyard of St. Mary and All Saints, Great Budworth, Northwich, Cheshire.
John was the elder son of Piers Egerton-Warburton of Arley Hall, Northwich, Cheshire and his wife Hon. Antoinette Elizabeth Saumarez.
He was educated at Eton for whom he played cricket in the Eton X1 in the 1901 and 1902 seasons. He was up at Christ Church from 1902-04.
In 1909, he married the Hon. Lettice Legh. In 1911 census they were living at 33 Eccleston St. London SW and he was a “Lieutenant in the Army.” [Scots Guards]. He was gazetted Captain in December 1914
In May 1915, John was wounded and sent to the Manchester Military Hospital where he died from acute blood poisoning on 30 August. His only child, Priscilla, was born on the following 5 November.
His name is on the War Memorial at Appleton Thorn, Northwich and the MCC Memorial at Lords
