School Visits

The Cathedral Education Department offers School Visits to students from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5, and we even have a special visit for teachers. Please use the menu to the left-hand side to view what we offer for your Key Stage.

If you have any special requirements, please be in touch with us on 01865 286003 Wednesday - Friday, or email jim.godfrey@chch.ox.ac.uk for Key Stage 2 and teaching staff or hannah.clegg@chch.ox.ac.uk for Key Stages 3-5. We will do our best to accomodate any requests.

If you have been on one of our school visits, we would very much like to know what you thought. Evaluation forms will be sent to you along with the booking form, and we would appreciate it if you could send these back to us at the above email addresses as soon as possible following the visit.

Facilities

Most school visits take place in the Priory Room, with a tour around the Cathedral (Key Stage 2). The Priory Room will be booked for the sole use of the school, but toilet facilities will be shared with other visitors to Christ Church. If you are coming just before or after lunch, and would like to use the Priory Room to have a packed lunch, please do let us know. For sixth form students, it may be possible to book a group in to eat in the Dining Hall, at the cost of £5 per student. Please let us know when you book if this is something you would be interested in.

As Christ Church is both a working cathedral, and a college of the University of Oxford, we cannot guarantee that all areas will be open to visitors (for example, the cathedral may close for special services, and the Hall may close for private meals). Some areas of the college are closed to visitors, as they are residential student areas. We ask that all groups respect the students' right to privacy and do not enter any areas marked 'private'.

Christ Church is a Grade I listed building, and whilst it has been made as accessible as possible for disabled people, certain areas may be hard to access. If you are bringing anyone with mobility problems, please could you let us know in advance so that we can plan entrance and guided tour routes accordingly.
