Pupils with Special Educational Needs or disabilities are always welcome to visit the Cathedral.
We are happy to work with you to provide an educational experience that will meet your pupils’ needs. There are many hands-on and multi-sensory opportunities in the Cathedral and we can offer pupils the chance to do some brass-rubbing or sketching.
“The children really enjoyed the touching, smelling and feeling of all sorts of things. These activities are perfect for a group with special needs and we cannot thank you enough for such a lovely visit.” Secondary SEN Teacher, Oxford.
There is unfortunately no parking at Christ Church, but it is possible to drop off pupils outside the College in St Aldate’s Street. The nearest place for coaches to park is the local Park and Ride. Special parking permission may be possible for pupils with disabilities. Please apply well in advance, giving the vehicle and its registration number, with the driver’s name. This will enable us to apply for a special permit. It may also be possible for a Special School mini-bus to park on site, but we are never able to guarantee a space will be available.
How to Book:
Please apply to visit at least four weeks in advance. To book, please contact Jackie Holderness, Cathedral Education Officer

A class of young people from the Isis Academy came to visit Christ Church on a photographic project in March. Inspired by a student's desire to photograph some of Oxford's beautiful buildings, the class came to learn more about photography and to take their own photographs around the college and cathedral. Revd Ralph Williamson, the College Chaplain (and a keen photographer) welcomed them, and then visited the class to see their work - where the photograph above was taken. The class really enjoyed their hands-on photography experience and hope to visit Christ Church again.
