Voluntary Groups

The Cathedral could not run without help from its many volunteers. Below are listed the groups to which volunteers contribute. For further information please see Volunteering, in the menu on the left.

Servers

Servers assist at Holy Communion and other special services.

Sidesmen

Sidesmen (and women) welcome people to services and ensure that services run smoothly.

Stewards

Stewards are given training so that they can lead groups and speak informatively about the Cathedral, its history and life.

Welcomers

Welcomers, as the name suggests, welcome visitors to the cathedral.

Embroiders

Bellringers

There is a dedicated and talented team of bellringers.

Flower arrangers

On Fridays our expert flower arrangers spend the morning creating displays.

Shop-helpers

The Cathedral Shop is incredibly busy in the summer and the volunteer helpers provide vital assistance.
