Double Win at Bedford

Christ Church Boat Club picked up two wins at Bedford Regatta last weekend coming out on top in College VIIIs and Senior 1 VIIIs.

The Men's First Eight overcame Balliol, New College before beating Pembroke, Cambridge by 4 lengths in the final of College VIIIs. They then turned their attentions to club opposition in the form of Kingston RC in the semi-finals of Senior 1 VIIIs. After beating Kingston by 2 1/2 lengths they went on to face Quintin/Mortlake in the final of which they came out on top by 2 lengths in a time of 3:17 - the fastest time of any crew in the regatta.

The Second Eight also raced in College VIIIs and Senior 4, narrowly losing to Clare College 1st Eight in the second round of College Eights having peviously eased past Balliol 2nd Eight, and coming out second best to Bedford School in Senior 4.

All-in-all these are very encouraging results for both crews so soon before Eights.
