Christ Church Commemoration Ball 2014

Ball 2014The Christ Church Commemoration Ball was held on June 21st 2014, and over 1000 guest enjoyed the night long celebration on the theme of 'English Eccentrics' - it was a delightful and truly unforgettable evening.

Jubilee Bridge opened at Christ Church, Oxford

On 20 June 2014, Christopher Ainsley and Martin Alderson-Smith formally opened a new footbridge across the River Cherwell at Christ Church Meadow to be known as the Jubilee Bridge. The bridge has been paid for by generous gifts from these old members of Christ Church and replaces a static punt.

Congratulations to ChCh Rowers

Six Christ Church boats and crews took part in the Summer 8's races this week, and we warmly congratulate all our rowers and those who support them. The sun shone for Saturday of 8's and Christ Church crews experienced a mixture of fortunes.

Tower Poetry Awards 2014

Tower Poetry 2014This year, the 14th Christopher Tower Poetry Prize competition attracted hundreds of entries from budding young poets from all across the UK.  The theme was ‘News’ which generated a wide range of creative responses. 

China Oxford Scholars' Conference

China Scholars Conference 2014The China Oxford Scholars' Spring Conference, organised by the China Oxford Scholars at the University of Oxford, is a student conference which will take place at Christ Church’s Blue Boar Theatre on Friday 9th May from 1:30pm – 6pm.

College Chaplain visits Saakshar Slum School

Christ Church graduate composer receives BBC NOW premiere

Graduate composer Luke Lewis’s orchestral work over us the shifting rafters was premiered in Cardiff on Tuesday 25 March 2014 as part of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales’s annual concert of works by Welsh composers. The work is based on a line from the R. S. Thomas poem ‘The Tramp’, and the concert was conducted by Jac van Steen.

Christian Yates wins Silver Award at SET
