Academic Background
Dr Nicole Zitzmann is a Reader in Glycobiology in the Department of Biochemistry, Oxford University; Lecturer in Biochemistry at Christ Church; Senior Research Fellow of Linacre College; and Leader of the Oxford Antiviral Drug Discovery Unit (Dept. of Biochemistry). She held a Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellowship of the Royal Society from 1999-2003 and a Research Fellowship at Wolfson College, Oxford from 2001-2005. She became group leader of the virus research group in 1999, and of the Proteomics group in 2002.
Undergraduate Teaching
Glycobiology, Virology and Proteomics
Research Interests
Investigation of novel approaches to antiviral therapy, using a multi-disciplinary approach including Glycobiology, Virology, Biophysics and Proteomics. The main targets are Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, and HIV.
