Academic Background
I read Geography as an undergraduate at Oxford and then moved to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada for my MSc. After that I returned to the UK to complete my doctorate in Earth Sciences at the University of Cambridge. I then spent seven years at the Natural Environment Research Council's Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in Wallingford working on climate change, hydrology and land-atmosphere interactions, whilst also teaching physical geography at St. John's College, Oxford. I moved to Christ Church in 2012 as Official Student and Tutor in Geography and took up a University Lecturership in Physical Geography in the School of Geography and the Environment at Oxford.

Research Interests
My research focuses on the processes that link climate, hydrology, and geomorphology. These links range from the potential impacts of future climate change on river flows, to the study of how continental-scale weather patterns have influenced the development of mountain topography over the past few million years.
