Degree Days

Christ Church is very pleased to facilitate the taking of degrees by members of the House. Degrees are not automatically conferred at the end of the course, but rather at a degree ceremony, for which bookings need to be made in advance.

The academic arrangements, including formal submission of degree candidates to the University at the Sheldonian Theatre is undertaken by the Censor of Degrees currently Dr Ronald Truman assisted by Professor Henry Mayr-Harting. The organisational and hospitality arrangements are made through the Steward’s Assistant,

Degree Days are allocated to the college by the University and scheduled generally for various Saturdays throughout the year. In  the first half of 2013 Christ Church will present graduands on the following dates at 11.00 a.m.
 

2013 Dates

To book on a degree ceremony from July 2013 onwards

• Undergraduate and postgraduate taught students who complete their course and receive their examination results after June 2013 will receive an email invitation in November of their final year inviting them to log into the eVision degree ceremonies booking system.

• Research students granted leave to supplicate from 12 December 2012 will receive an email invitation with information about booking a degree ceremony.

• Students who completed their course before June 2013 (or wish to have their MA conferred in person) and research students granted leave to supplicate before 12 December 2012 may request to be put on the waiting list for their preferred date.
