Banquets & Private Dining

The Great Hall prepared for a banquet

Christ Church has an experienced catering services team. The Hall is managed by Mr Andrew Hedges. The kitchen, under the direction of Mr Chris Simms provides a high standard of cuisine. The college caters for lunches, banquets, weddings and receptions. A comprehensive range of menus is offered, a wide range of dietary needs can be met.

Banquets and meals for up to 300 guests can be organised in the magnificent Tudor Hall (available vacations only), the largest in Oxford, with its notable stained glass, hammerbeam roof and portrait collection. The adjacent McKenna Room (available term time and vacations) seats up to 47 and is an ideal venue for private dinners. As well as offering comprehensive and inventive menus to a high standard, the college also places importance on an actively implemented food safety policy, employing qualified staff in all catering areas.

Wine, Cellar and Bar Services: the college’s well-stocked cellar is available to conferences and offers excellent value for money. The Buttery Bar, adjacent to Hall, can be made available and is especially popular before lunch and dinner.  There is also a cellar bar, the Undercroft. Drinks receptions are available before banquets and other meals; during the summer months these may be arranged in one of the college’s attractive gardens or quads. The college’s cellar and bar services are overseen by Mr Peter Keddie.

 

McKenna Room

Private Dinners can be arranged in the McKenna Room during term time and also the vacation subject to availability. The college's well stocked cellar is available and offers excellent value for money. The Buttery Bar can be made available prior to private dinners and banquets. There is also a cellar bar, the Undercroft available for after dinner bars (vacation only).
