During the Christmas, Easter and Summer Vacations, Christ Church is a popular location for residential Conferences and Summer Schools.
Delegates enjoy staying in the unique surroundings - both a College and a Cathedral - with the opportunity to walk through the Quadrangles and Cloisters, eat meals in the magnificent Tudor Dining Hall, listen to the Choir at Evensong and sleep in traditional College bedrooms.
Christ Church has the advantage of being right in the centre of Oxford, within easy reach of the shops, museums and libraries. During ‘free time’ delegates can also enjoy a stroll through Christ Church Meadow to the river, hire a punt at nearby Magdalen Bridge, visit our Picture Gallery and Shop, or book a Tour of Christ Church, or one of the many different Tours of Oxford.
We can accommodate Conferences and Summer Schools of 20 – 300 people, in comfortably modernised bedrooms, in buildings dating from the 16th Century to the 1960s. Ensuite and Standard Bedrooms, for both single and twin occupancy, are located over four floors. Please note that there are no lifts in the accommodation blocks.
All bedrooms have Wi-Fi internet access.
We offer Bed and Breakfast only, Half Board or Full Board. All meals are freshly prepared in our medieval kitchen and served in Hall (unless there is a special event taking place). Set Menus for our Conferences and Summer Schools are created by our Executive Head Chef.

We can provide wine with your meals from our extensive wine cellar, charging by the bottle on a Sale or Return basis. If you decide to bring in your own wine there is a corkage charge.
Depending on the size of your Conference, we can open the Buttery Bar or Undercroft, for your delegates to enjoy a drink before dinner or purchase wine to have with their meal. They can remain open after dinner up until 11.00pm.
At the beginning or end of their stay, some Conferences and Summer Schools like to organise a pre-dinner Reception in one of our Gardens or Quadrangles.
Christ Church offers a range of well equipped Meeting Rooms of varying capacities, from the 120 seater Blue Boar Lecture Theatre to our Old Library Seminar Rooms for 12 people. Additional equipment, such as photocopiers, can be hired in at a Service Charge of 20%.
We can provide an Office with telephone for longer Conferences and Summer Schools, by utilising one of our standard bedrooms.
In addition to our Meeting Rooms, the Junior Common Room is a light, spacious room, with comfy chairs. It is shared by all of our guests who want to relax, read, use the Internet Café or watch the TV.
We are unable to provide car parking for delegates, although one space may be available for conference organisers at the discretion of the College. We strongly advise your delegates to use public transport – there are good links to the City by Coach and Train. Many Oxford streets are closed to traffic and parking in the City Centre is severely limited and expensive, although Park and Ride is available.
