Blood Over Water by David Livingston (2001)

David Livingston’s book on the Boat Race is now available in paperback. Since it was released last year the book has been shortlisted for the Best New Writer category at the British Sports Book Awards and David has had several offers for the film option on the book.

David is well qualified to write on the subject of the Boat Race, having been a Blue in ’03 and ’04 and having famously raced his own Light Blue brother in the closest race in history (which Oxford won by one foot!) This account – entitled “Blood over Water” charts the sibling rivalry intensified by that divisive race in the run-up to the clash of 2003 – the first time that brothers had raced one another in over a century.
