Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th June 2006
Slideshow: 25 Years of Women
On 12 October 1980 the first women were matriculated at Christ Church. To celebrate this important event in the history of the House, all 1,404 women who have studied at Christ Church since 1980 were invited to return to the House for a celebratory weekend.
Nearly 250 alumnae participated in Saturday's programme, which included talks panels with 29 old members speaking about their careers and experiences since leaving the House, and a medley of arts, sports and music. Boaties had the chance to be reunited on the river 20 years after winning the first women's blades in Torpids. The day concluded with drinks in the Deanery, a black-tie banquet and a disco in the Undercroft!
Sunday's events were open to partners and children, with 300 people participating in total. The day began with a jazz brunch in Hall, and an afternoon in the Master's Garden provided entertainment in the form of pony rides, bouncy castles and Pimms!
