CAROLS FIT FOR A MONARCH

Introduced by Howard Goodall / Clive Driskill-Smith and Ghislaine Reece-Trapp – piano

For this year’s Festival, to celebrate the Jubilee Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II, director Stephen Darlington has chosen a magical programme of carols with links to British Monarchs. Many of the carols are familiar and all are very beautiful; this is a concert of Christmas gems, presented by Howard Goodall in informative and entertaining festive form.

Programme includes:

  • Once in Royal David’s City – Gauntlett
  • Zadok the Priest – Handel
  • The Holly and the Ivy – Walford Davies
  • In the Bleak Midwinter – Darke
  • The Twelve Days of Christmas – Chilcott

Followed by: Post-concert reception in the Footstool Restaurant in the crypt for Members of the House and guests.
