Waddesdon Manor, 15th November 2007
Old members enjoyed a special treat on 15th November with a tour of Waddesdon Manor, adorned with sumptious Christmas decorations inside and out and populated by ballet dancers and children dressed as characters from the tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Especially memorable were the rooms representing the tale of the 'Princess and the Pea' and a delightful 'Thumbelina'. A delicous three course supper was served in the Manor Restaurant and hosted by Simon Offen, the Association Chairman, and his wife Kathryn. Christ Church would like to thank them both for giving our old members such a warm welcome and a thoroughly delightful evening.

The top performance of the day came from James Philpott (1990), who scored 41 points on the Red Course. To read the tournament newsletter, please click here.

For the first time in House history, Christ Church hosted a reunion black-tie dinner for Christ Church Geographers and their guests. Dr Paul Coones gave an exciting lecture about Sir Halford Mackinder before a drinks reception and Dinner in Hall. Grace was read by Robert Frost - the first Geographer to matriculate at the House in 1963, and Sam Bickersteth (1980) spoke warmly after Dinner. If any old members have photos of this event, do send them in!
