The Andrew Chamblin Fund
Andrew Chamblin, an old member of Christ Church (1991), died suddenly and unexpectedly in 2006 at the very early age of 36. Friends and relatives of Andrew have joined together to commemorate his memory by forming the Andrew Chamblin Memorial Concert Fund with the intention of funding an annual organ concert to be given in Christ Church Cathedral, given Andrew's own accomplishments as an organist and great appreciation of organ music. The inaugural Andrew Chamblin Memorial Concert took place in Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford on Thursday 10th May 2007 and was given by the internationally renowned organist Thomas Trotter FRCO. Mr Trotter played a number of organ pieces by Mozart, Handel and Bach.
The seventh annual Andrew Chamblin Memorial Concert will be given by the internationally renowned organist Nicolas Kynaston HonFRCO HonRAM at 8 pm in Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, on Tuesday 11th June 2013. Mr Kynaston will play an hour-long programme of Baroque organ works by Bach, Mendelssohn and Mozart. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. There are no tickets required and no reserved seating.
