People have been visiting this medieval church for over 800 years, ever since local pilgrims came here to pray at the shrine of St Frideswide, the patron saint of Oxford. Today we welcome visitors from all over the world, and we hope that you will enjoy your visit. Photographs may be taken. Cathedral Stewards are on duty to help you during your visit.
Free guided tours of the Cathedral are available on weekdays at 11am, 12noon, 2pm and 3pm. The tours, which last approximately 20 minutes, start from the main entrance of the Cathedral. The tours have been designed specifically for visitors who want to understand the history, architecture, purpose, and life of the Cathedral but are also working to a fairly tight schedule.
If you are planning to visit as a group and would like to arrange a guided tour, please contact Miranda Hockliffe.
