Norman was the son of Harold Charles Goodall and his wife Winifred Grace Mayhead. He was born in Reading. At the time of the 1911 census, his father was Clerk to a house decorator in Reading. Norman had an older sister born in 1909.
In 1939, he married Edna Patricia Mills [known as Peggy] of Earley, Reading at Reading.
He was a Pilot Officer in the RAFVR 234 Squadron when he was killed on May 13 1941. His parents were living at The Spinney, Elm Lane, Earley, Reading and his wife was living in Woodstock.
His name is on the Runnymede Memorial Panel 32.
His Will is held in Administration Records in the Berkshire Record Office D/EBB B3/261.
His widow remarried in Wallingford in 1944.
His connection to Christ Church is not known.
