An Opening at the Picture Gallery

Picture Gallery Hire

The Picture Gallery can be hired as a venue for private functions and drinks receptions. The juxtaposition of a prize-winning modern building with the Old Master paintings and drawings, as well as collections of English Glass and Russian Icons, makes the Gallery an interesting and intimate venue which is ideal for social or educational events. The Picture Gallery can accommodate up to 90 people. More intimate gatherings with talks by Gallery staff can be tailored to the interests of the visitors.

Photographic Requests

Photographic requests for images in the collection (including the Christ Church collection of portraits) should be addressed to the Picture Gallery Assistant, who can also provide information about charges and  reproduction rights.

Print Room

The print room is open by appointment only to scholars and visitors with a specific interest in the drawings collection. Visits to the print room must be arranged with the Curator of the Picture Gallery, preferably two weeks in advance. Group visits to the Print Room are restricted to a maximum of five people at one time.

For further information, please contact the Picture Gallery.
