UCAS Forms

Thank you to everyone who has applied to Christ Church this year.  Applications for entry in 2010 (or deferred entry in 2011) are now closed.  Candidates have all now been sent an email acknowledging receipt of their application and providing details – where relevant – about the submission of written work and arrangements for tests (see below).  If you have not received a message from us, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Communicating with Candidates

We will communicate with candidates predominantly by email, so you are reminded to check the account for the email address you provided on your UCAS form on a regular basis.  Important general information will be posted on this page, as well as on our Facebook page (go to www.facebook.com/chchadmissions to become a fan).

Any questions should be emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   Please quote your name and subject in all correspondence.

Interview Accommodation Form

All candidates (except those interviewed overseas) have been asked to return a completed Interview Accommodation Form by 10 November.  We require this information in order to begin the necessary domestic preparations; please note that it is not an invitation to interview (see below).  If you have any questions about the details we require, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

If you have not yet completed and returned your Interview Accommodation Form, please do so ASAP.  Failure to do so may affect our ability to accommodate you.

Tests and Written Work

Candidates for some subjects are asked to submit written work or sit a test as part of their application.  You are strongly advised to check the requirements for your subject, published on the appropriate course page of the University admissions website, under the ‘How to apply’ tab.

Pre-interview tests are taken in your own school, college or local test centre.  Candidates for Law must take the LNAT by 1 November; pre-interview tests in all other subjects are sat on 4 November.

Written work must be received by Christ Church Admissions Office by 10 November. Submissions received after the deadline will be marked ‘late’. When sending us your work, please bear in mind that:

  • Each piece of work must be accompanied by a completed cover sheet, which can be downloaded from the admissions website.
  • Your work should be printed or written on single sides of A4, with your name and subject clearly marked on the front of each sheet. Please do not fasten your work with staples.  Any inserts, such as photographs, must be taped securely on all four sides.
  • We do not accept submissions by fax or email.
  • We are unable to return submitted work.  You are advised to keep a copy of your work for reference as you may be asked about it at interview.
  • You must ensure that you use adequate postage for the size and weight of the envelope.  You are strongly advised to take your package to a Post Office for weighing.  Submissions sent without enough postage are usually delayed, with some failing to reach us at all.

Given the potential backlog of mail due to the recent postal strikes, candidates may wish to consider sending their written work by Special Delivery or courier service to ensure it reaches us by the deadline.

Interviews

Candidates must be available for interview for the full duration of the period specified in the interview timetable. We will tell you whether or not you have been shortlisted for interview in late November, usually at least seven days before your first interview.

Some subjects at Christ Church require candidates in Oxford before the published arrival time.  If this applies to your subject, we will have mentioned this in our acknowledgement email.

Candidates in some subjects will be asked to sit a test during the interview period in December.

Candidates from outside Europe are asked to read the interview arrangements for international candidates.  Please also read the information regarding the tests sat in December.
