Admissions policy

Christ Church Upper library. Drawing by David Gentleman, The Oxford Almanach MDCCCLXVII

All current members of Christ Church may use the Library. Members of the college may not bring non-members into the Library without the express permission of the Librarian or the Assistant Librarians.

Undergraduates and postgraduates will be invited to a tour of the Library at the start of their courses. If you have not attended a tour, please find a member of staff on your first visit to the Library so that you can sign the Library registration form and be given a quick tour.

If you are a current Junior Member of Oxford University but not of Christ Church and need to use materials held by the Library, please approach your own college library staff who will make arrangements on your behalf. Access will usually only be granted to see materials which are not held by any other libraries to which you have access. In particular please check the Bodleian's manual catalogues as well as OLIS.

If you need to use the research collections of the library, please consult the pages dedicated to History and collections and Information for visiting readers.
