SOLO is the online catalogue for the majority of Oxford’s electronic and printed library collections. You can access it from anywhere by going to the website at http://solo.bodleian.ox.ac.uk.
There is also an icon to open SOLO on all the computers within the library. There is a brief guide available if you need information on using SOLO. Please ask at the front desk. Once you have searched for an item, you can identify if Christ Church Library holds a copy by clicking on the “Locations” tap and then clicking the plus sign by the side of the library name to see location and shelf mark information. Clicking the down arrow will display an item’s availability.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO LIMIT YOUR SEARCH TO ONLY CHRIST CHURCH LIBRARY HOLDINGS BY SELECTING IT FROM THE DROP-DOWN MENU TO THE RIGHT OF THE SEARCH BOX.
You can quickly and easily view what items you have on loan and when they are due for return by logging into your account on SOLO. As current members of Oxford University you should sign in using your “Oxford Single Sign on (SSO)”. From here you can also view the progress of any requests that you have made.
For information on the various catalogues of early printed books and manuscripts, please refer to Catalogues to Consult in the Library History and Collections section.
