Easter Celebration

Easter was celebrated joyfully at Christ Church Cathedral this weekend. Despite falling snow, hundreds queued in Tom Quad for the main Easter Sunday services. The First Eucharist of Easter was celebrated on Saturday night in a Service of Light at which members of churches in the diocese were baptised, confirmed and welcomed into the Church of England.

Throughout Holy Week the events of Christ's Passion were remembered in sermons preached after Evensong by Canon Biggar and the singing of St John's Passion by the Cathedral Choir. If you would like to read the text of Canon Biggar's Holy Week sermons, click here.
