Twelve young poets were given the opportunity to develop their writing and critical skills through the annual Tower Poetry Summer School at Christ Church between the 26th and 29th of August. The residential course included exciting and challenging workshops run by experienced tutors and readings by guest poets as well as visits to places of literary interest in Oxford.
Above: David Morley, Professor of Creative Writing, National Teaching Fellow and Director for The Warwick Writing Programme & The Warwick Prize for Writing at the University of Warwick, held participants at the 2008 Tower Poetry Summer School in rapt attention during his reading which included excerpts from The Invisible Kings. The tutors, Jane Draycott and Frances Leviston, plus Peter McDonald, Director of Tower Poetry, were amongst those who thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
