Preparing for the Times Literary Festival

Christ Church's Head Chef, Roland Depit, seen here in Wolsey's historic kitchen, is preparing a grand Italian Luncheon in Christ Church Hall, sponsored by Sacla, the internationally known producer of Italian foods, in conjunction with the Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival and the Guild of Food Writers' annual gathering.

Admissions Open Day 2008

The Christ Church Open Day for prospective applicants will be held on Wednesday 25th June. Aimed at students who will be applying to university this Autumn, our Open Day is planned to give you the opportunity to see Christ Church, meet our Tutors and undergraduates, and find out as much as possible about what we offer and how you apply.

Independant Picture Review

The importance of Christ Church's art collection is once more highlighted by a newspaper article on one of our paintings. In the Arts & Books Review in The Independent on Friday, the 25th, the art critic Tom Lubbock discusses John Riley's (1646-91) A Scullion of Christ Church. This unusual painting - one of the first portraits of a servant ever painted - can be seen in the Picture Gallery.

Visit Christ Church

Christ Church is both Oxford University's largest College and the Cathedral Church for the Anglican Diocese of Oxford. We welcome visitors throughout the year to enjoy its beauty and fascinating history, including Wolsey's Great Hall, its stunning medieval Cathedral, award winning Picture Gallery and enchanting buildings which have been the setting for many films, including The Golden Compass.
