Framed by two of Haydn's major choral works, the week hosts a variety of high level events and concerts around the college. ENTRANCE: Non-member pass for all concerts - £10/£7 (concession) ******************************** SATURDAY 20th Feburary - CHRIST CHURCH COLLEGE CHOIR Christ Church College Choir open this years Festival Week with one of Haydn's most famous works, The Nelson Mass, under the direction of their conductor Suzie Green. ******************************** SUNDAY 21st - I DEDICATI I Dedicati (directed by Greg Skidmore) provide a late night programme of Brumel and Issac, lesser known contemporaries of Josquin, enhanced by the atmospheric setting of the cathedral. ******************************** TUESDAY 23rd - CHAMBER MUSIC SHOWCASE Ensemble masterclasses with Ioan Davies (founder of the Fitzwilliam Quartet), working with some of Oxford's finest chamber musicians, which will then be featured in an evening concert. ******************************** THURSDAY 25th - THE ALIX ENSEMBLE: The Italian Madonna Contemplative Italian Baroque and Renaissance music on a Marian theme for the Lentern season. Set in the beautiful picture gallery, with soloists Anna Sideris and Henry Jones accompanied by Jason Walsh on lute. ******************************** SATURDAY 27th - CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL CHOIR HAYDN - The Creation (Parts 1 and 2) Christ Church Cathedral Choir and some of Oxford's finest musicians combine to perform perhaps Haydn's greatest choral work, The Creation, to round off Festival Week. As well as concluding Festival Week, this concert is being put on to raise money for Christ Church Cathedral School and the fabulous work that it does for the choristers of the Cathedral Choir in particular.
