Christ Church Open Day 2011 - UPDATED

On Saturday 10th September 2011 Christ Church opened its doors to the public for free, inviting people to come and have a look ‘behind the scenes’ at college and cathedral life! 

Christ Church was open: 10am-4pm (last entry), then for Evensong 4.45pm for 5pm Evensong by the Cathedral Choir.

During the day there were demonstrations of bellringing, stone masonry, calligraphy and much more. There were tours of the College, Library, Cathedral and bell tower, and exhibition stands in the Cathedral.

Highlights of the day included 'have a go' handbell ringing, singalong with the Cathedral Singers, a children's trail throughout the day and the Picture Gallery which was open to the public all day. Refreshments were available on site, and the gardens were be open for picnicking. Once again the day was a great success and the images here show how much members of the public and the local community appreciated the chance to explore Christ Church.
