Michelle Obama visits Christ Church

Michelle Obama visited Christ Church on Wednesday May 25th. In the Great Hall she addressed students from the University of Oxford and pupils from the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson language college in Islington, and answered their questions. She spoke passionately about the importance of having high aspirations and encouraged them to work hard and to aim for the best in all they do. It was the third time America's First Lady had met students from the school, who were also experiencing mentor sessions with Oxford students during their day. The visit was a great success and Christopher Lewis, the Dean, thanked everybody who had made it possible.

The First Lady told the schoolgirls: ‘We passionately believe that you have the talent within you, you have the drive, you have the experience to succeed at Oxford and universities just like is across the country and across the world.’
