The charity Wells For India, which was founded in 1987 by the first President of the Graduate Common Room at Christ Church, Nicholas Grey, is celebrating the launch of their new website here:
Christ Church strongly supports Wells for India's work with poor communities in Rajasthan, in partnership with local development organisations, where water is the key to enabling people to improve their lives, their life-chances, and their environment.
"Over the years, we have extended our expertise beyond the provision of wells, to rainwater harvesting, natural resource management, and sanitation. We encourage the revival of traditional water management wisdom combined with up-to-date scientific and technological innovation. We have learned that for sustainable change to take place, water resources need to be accessible, reliable, of sufficient quality, used efficiently, distributed equitably, and managed and maintained at community level".
