New Licensed Lay Minister joins Cathedral team

Janet Proudman was licensed as the first Cathedral Licensed Lay Minister (LLM) at a special Choral Eucharist for the Feast of Epiphany. Janet has been a Day Chaplain at the Cathedral for many years, alongside her service as an LLM at St Mary and St John and St Alban's in the parish of Cowley St John. She is also part of the Hospital Chaplaincy team at the John Radcliffe and the Churchill Hospitals in Oxford.

In her new voluntary role Janet will lead the day chaplaincy team, assist with our educational and pastoral work and have a regular place in the leadership of worship.

She was commissioned for her new role on Saturday 6 January, at which the preacher was the Revd Canon Dr Margaret Whipp, Lead Chaplain, Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust.
