Busy Summer for Christ Church Library

2016 sees an unprecedented number of opportunities for Summer School attendees, Workshop participants, and those joining in various events organized in the Upper Library at Christ Church, to engage with the Special Collections.

The Library opens its doors to History of Medicine classes, Architecture, Byzantine Studies, Renaissance Cartography, Digital Reconstruction, Lewis Carroll studies, and many others. Diverse and wide ranging, a common denominator of these classes is that they all aim to ensure that our fabulous research library is accessible to students and scholars alike, both in and out of term.

Although the welcome popularity of the Library Special Collections has increased significantly during the past few years, nothing has quite prepared us for this level of demand to organize such a variety of workshops, classes, talks and special events in the Upper Library.

All this exciting activity takes place in a summer curtailed by the enforced closure of the Library for essential building works from 15 August until 11 September 2016.
