Literary Festival

Christ Church is welcoming around two hundred and fifty writers and thousands of visitors this week at the Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival, which we are very happy to be hosting once again from the 31st of March to the 6th April. An exciting and far-ranging programme of speakers for the 12th festival are here at Christ Church to debate, discuss ideas and share their passion for their subject.

Preparing for the Times Literary Festival

Christ Church's Head Chef, Roland Depit, seen here in Wolsey's historic kitchen, is preparing a grand Italian Luncheon in Christ Church Hall, sponsored by Sacla, the internationally known producer of Italian foods, in conjunction with the Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival and the Guild of Food Writers' annual gathering.

Man Booker International Prize

The Man Booker International Prize presentation took place in Oxford last night, Thursday the 28th of June, and the prize was awarded to Chinua Achebe. Reception drinks were served at The Bodleian Library, followed by a presentation at the Sheldonian.  Christ Church Custodians then walked the guests (over 200) through the streets of Oxford to Christ Church.  Christ Church Cathedral Choir sung as guests entered the quad and a Banquet Dinner was then served.
