ARC International Cathedral Welcomers

At the Sung Eucharist on Sunday 13th July the cathedral was pleased to welcome six students who belong to ARC,  an ecumenical Christian group. They will be staying with us for three weeks, giving tours to our visitors in their own languages.

Ordinations at Christ Church

On Saturday 5th July, nineteen new clergy were ordained to serve in churches across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. The ordinations took place at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford at 10am and 2pm.

Jubilee Bridge opened at Christ Church, Oxford

On 20 June 2014, Christopher Ainsley and Martin Alderson-Smith formally opened a new footbridge across the River Cherwell at Christ Church Meadow to be known as the Jubilee Bridge. The bridge has been paid for by generous gifts from these old members of Christ Church and replaces a static punt.



Sir Harrison Birtwistle Concert

At the University of Oxford's Encaenia on Wednesday 25 June the distinguished British composer Sir Harrison Birtwistle CH is to be awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Music. That same evening, Christ Church mounts its own tribute to Birtwistle in his 80th birthday year, in the presence of the composer.
