Behind the Scenes Guided Tours

Visit the hidden Christ Church. With access to private gardens, our 'Behind the scenes tours' allow  visitors unique access to the College's history, its architecture, student life, scenes associated with the world of Lewis Carroll and of course, the Harry Potter films.

The behind the scenes tour lasts approximately one hour and includes the Masters, Pocock and Cathedral Gardens, Tom Quad and Hall. Following the tour you will have an opportunity to explore the public areas of Christ Church in your own time. Please note there is a small additional fee if you wish to visit the Picture Gallery.

Reserve your Place Online and Pay upon Arrival

From May it will be possible to reserve your place on one of our tours via our on-line booking system. Once you have successfully made your reservation you will be issued with an e-receipt. When you arrive for your tour you will be asked to present your e-receipt summarising your booking and make payment for your places.

Dates and Times

During May, tours run at 11am and 2pm Monday to Saturday subject to availability. During June, tours run at 11 am and 2.30pm Monday to Saturday subject to availability. Dates are published on a monthly basis. For example dates for June will be published the week of 27 May.

As a working institution, parts of Christ Church may close from time to time and occasionally with very short notice. We will notify you as soon as possible if a closure will affect you.

Guided Tour Prices

May and June 2013

Adults £12.00 per person

Concessions (Student/Senior/under 18) £10.50 per person

July and August 2013

Adult £15.00 per person

Concessions (Student/Senior/Under 18) £13.00 per person

Availability

There are 25 spaces available on each tour

Group Bookings – 10 and over

If you have made a group booking of 10 people or more a deposit will be required. This must be made by credit or debit card by calling 01865 286573, Monday-Saturday between 9am and 4pm. The deposit is non-refundable and is £4 per person.
