International Women's Day

Written by Eleanor Sanger, posted on Wednesday, March 7, 2018

International Women's Day falls on 8th March every year. It's a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, and the day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

This year, we thought we'd take a look back over the Christ Church news stories from the past year that have focussed on women and their achievements. The women of our college - whether students, staff or alumnae - have achieved some incredible things over the past year, and achieve similarly amazing things every day. Today we're celebrating what they've done, but also the huge impact they have on Christ Church, culturally, academically, and in so many other different ways.

We'll be using a few blog posts to focus on news relating to our students, our academic staff, our alumni, and college news more generally, to give you a bit of an insight into some of the wonderful women in the Christ Church community! We hope you enjoy reading about what they get up to - and remember we're always happy for you to get in touch if you'd like more information about anything.

You might also want to look back over our Christ Church Women in Science feature for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science back in February, for a more in-depth insight into some of our brilliant female researchers.
