Torpids 2022 Day One Report
Day One of Torpids 2022 was exciting and successful, despite the grey, wet, and cold weather.
The results were:
M4 +1
M3 -3
W3 -->
W2 +2
M2 +1
W1 -->
M1 +1
Today, Thursday, M4 chase University M3 in the hope of continuing to bump up. OURCs have introduced some coxing restrictions for the high stream, so their cox will have to change. M3 will be looking to set the record straight after their entanglement with University yesterday which cost them three places, and will be chasing down St. Peter's M2.
W3 closed to overlap on Magdalen on day one, and will be looking to secure the bump today. W2 will be looking to continue their streak with a bump on St. Johns.
M2 are now the highest Second boat on the river after their bump on Pembroke M2. Today they focus on gaining that elusive bump on Worcester M1 which was unjustly denied them last year. M2 also need to change to a more experienced cox due to the river conditions.
W1 rowed over on day one, but had an incredible race, closing to a length on Oriel after Univ bumped out in front of them. A bump is definitely on the cards for today!
M1, secured an over-bump on Pembroke, who went from second to fourth on the River. M1, now third, today chase Catz in the hope of moving up to second on the river.
Starting positions and results may be seen at the OURCS website.
