Second or Subsequent Year Graduate Book Grant Form

  • Each graduate student initially registered on a course at Christ Church lasting more than one year is eligible for a grant of £290 in their first year (this may not be carried over into the second year, except for students on a CDT 1+3 course) and a further grant of £145 in one of their subsequent years of study whilst in fee liability.
  • A graduate student initially registered on a one-year course who transfers to a higher degree course after the first year (e.g. MSt then DPhil) is, in the first year, eligible for a grant of £145. On transfer after the first year, they become eligible for a further grant of £290 to be claimed in one of their subsequent years of study whilst in fee liability.
  • After the first year of study (or second year for CDT students) these grants may only be claimed once more, in one of their subsequent years of study whilst in fee liability. Claims can be made up to the maximum amount of either £145 or £290 depending on circumstances, as described above. Whilst it is permitted to apply to claim for less than your maximum limit, any leftover allowance will be lost.
  • Students may apply for these grants to reimburse the purchase of course-related books, e-books, apps, or software essential for their work.
  • Receipts for books purchased must be uploaded.
  • The grant will normally be credited to battels, updated and reflected after the application deadline has passed at the end of each term.
  • Only books related to your current course of academic study/research can be reimbursed.
  • The deadline for applications is Friday of 8th Week in each term.
