Undergraduate Book Grant Form

  • Each Junior Member reading for an undergraduate degree may apply for one grant of £330 for the purchase of course-related books, e-books, or apps (e.g. software) essential for their work.
  • Students may claim up to a maximum of three times over their course, for as much as they like each time (there is no minimum claim amount), up to £330 in total. Any excess within the £330 allowance will be carried over, as long as the maximum number of claims (three) has not already been made.
  • The claim(s) may be made in any year of study, but receipts must be for the current academic year.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of previous claims in order to monitor their remaining allowance – false claims will be unsuccessful.
  • Only books related to your current course of academic study can be reimbursed. Students are strongly encouraged to discuss their purchases with their Tutors in advance, and to actively engage in these helpful conversations.
  • Certain items will not be accepted under this grant, such as note-books, Nutshells (for Law), and translations of set texts for Modern Languages (unless expressly approved by a Tutor in advance).
  • The grant will normally be credited to battels, updated and reflected after the application deadline has passed at the end of each term.
  • The deadline for applications is Friday of 8th Week in each term.
