Open Day

On 21 September we will host an “Open House” at Christ Church, where you, your family, friends and guests can enjoy a day of activities, and dinner in Hall. We hope to encourage lots of you to return, so please feel free to book for some or all of the events, dip in out as and when, note that families with children aged 12+ are welcome to dine, and that the dress code is informal.

Parking is available from 10.30am in the Meadows (not the Sports Ground). Access to the ground is via the Jubilee Bridge. There will be a bbq lunch and an afternoon of various sports. To ensure the smooth running of the afternoon we will need to know who wants to play what, and the children’s ages. Sports on offer are: Touch Rugby, Soccer, Tennis (on astro), Hockey, Netball, Croquet, and Punting (at the Boat House) (Those wishing to row are encouraged to attend the Boat Club day at the Boat House on Saturday 12th October)

A sandwich tea will be served at the pavilion before the focus of attention moves back to College for the choice of an academic discussion, a Nyetimber wine tasting (for which there will be a small charge and a limited number of places), and two events for younger guests: creating a play in a day with Ovalhouse which will be performed in Tom Quad after Evensong, or Alice & Harry Potter tours.

Evensong is at 6pm, but the Buttery bar will open for those who wish to sit and chat, and to purchase pre-dinner drinks. After the play is performed dinner will start at 7.30pm. The cost of dinner with some wine is only £35 p.p. or £30 for under 18’s. Dress is smart casual, and all over the age of 12 are welcome. Further wines and other drinks may be purchased from the Buttery bar which will be open from 6pm until late.
