On Saturday 14 September members of the Board of Benefactors are invited to the sixth Benefactors' Gaudy. 

The main purpose is to thank all members of the Board of Benefactors for their most generous support.

The day's events inlcude tours, exibitions, talks, gin and port tasting, before the evening starts with Evensong, followed by a Champagne reception and dinner in Hall. 


Saturday 14 September

1.30pm - 5.30pm Registration, and room keys available for collection in the Undercroft. Refreshments available

2pm – 3.15pm. Cathedral Tour

2pm – 3.15pm. Upper Library Exhibition & Talk on “The Natural World”

2pm – 3.15pm. The Head Gardener’s Tour with John James

3.15pm – 4.00pm. Tea available in the Sir Michael Dummett Exhibition Space

4.00pm - 5.15pm. Lecture by Prof. Edward Keene, Tutor in Politics, in the Sir Michael Dummett Lecture Theatre: 'Are we caught in "Thucydides’s Trap"?' Rising and falling powers in World politics

4.00pm – 5.15pm. A Presentation and tasting of Physic Gin by Prof. Simon Hiscock, Director, Oxford Botanic Garden & Arboretum. LR1

4.00pm – 5.15pm. A vertical tasting of Taylor’s Port from the House cellars. The Buttery Manager, Ms Emily Robotham. The Freind Room

6.00pm Choral Evensong

7.00pm Champagne Reception in Tom Quad

7.45pm The Choir sing Grace in Hall. Welcome by Lord Charles Cecil, Chairman of the Development Board

8.00pm Dinner in hall

10.30pm The Buttery Bar will be open. The Choirmen sing on the Hall stairs


Sunday 15 September

8.00am - 9.00am Breakfast in Hall

Accommodation is offered free at the House and the Gaudy finishes with breakfast in Hall on the Sunday morning. Guests are welcome to attend the Cathedral services and make use of the car park facilities until 7pm on Sunday.
