Trinity Term House Communion

The service of House Communion took place in the Cathedral on Thursday 18 May, attended by members from across the college community, including students, staff, and senior members, in a celebration of college life at Christ Church.

House Communion takes place once a term, and allows members of the college in various capacities to come together both for the service itself, and for dinner in Hall afterwards, fostering the sense of community that is a particular feature and benefit of college life.

During the service, we celebrated the creative gifts of our junior members. The congregation enjoyed a classical dance piece, performed by Elizabeth Andrew to Einaudi's 'I Giorni', played by pianist Felix Tennie, and as part of the service the college choir, joined by soloists Alice Harberd, Lila Chrisp, Alistair Walker and John Lee, performed Mozart's 'Sparrow Mass' and 'Ave Verum Corpus' with a student orchestra. We were also delighted to have the Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd Dr Stephen Croft, with us to preach.

After the service, the congregation enjoyed dinner in Hall, on one of the few occasions where junior members, the Dean, canons, staff and senior members all eat together.
