Stipendiary Lecturership in English
Christ Church invites applications for a fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in English. This is a temporary, fixed-term position to fulfil a current teaching need arising from Professor Mishtooni Bose’s sabbatical leave during Michaelmas and Hilary Term 2025/6. Therefore, the appointment carries with it no expectation of permanent employment at Christ Church.
The successful candidate will deliver eight hours of tutorial teaching per week, and will be able to teach the following papers for the Preliminary Examination in English Language and Literature and the Final Honour School of English Language and Literature:
- Prelims 2: Early Medieval Literature, c. 650-c.1350
- Final Honour School Course I Paper 2/Course 2 Paper 3: Literature in English, 1350-1550
- Final Honour School Course 2 Paper 1: Literature in English 650-1100 (if there are Course 2 candidates)
- Final Honour School Course 2 Paper 2: Medieval English and Related Literatures 1066-1550 (if there are Course 2 candidates – please note that at least 50% of the teaching for this paper is conducted by Faculty colleagues)
- Final Honour School Paper 7: dissertation (if required)

£22,091 – £24,411 (current rates) per annum, according to qualifications and experience
