Qualifications

BA History (Durham); MPhil Theology (Oxford); DPhil Theology (Oxford)

Academic background

I completed my DPhil in Theology at Oxford in 2020. I am currently Departmental Lecturer in Ecclesiastical History in the Faculty of Theology and Religion. Before taking up this post, I taught Theology and History at Fordham London, at Stanford University’s overseas studies programme in Oxford, and at Blackfriars, where I also hold a Junior Research Fellowship.

Undergraduate teaching

I teach the FHS paper in Medieval Religions in the Faculty of Theology and Religion, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations in Ecclesiastical History.

Research interests

My research centres on the reception of the Bible in medieval monastic authors. I specialise in the thought of Anselm of Canterbury (1033–1109), but my interests also include medieval liturgy, Benedictine monastic spirituality and medieval theories of atonement.
