HM Queen Elizabeth
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited Christ Church on Friday May the 5th and was greeted on Tom Quad by cheering crowds of students and staff, members of the college and cathedral, along with their families and friends. The Queen was welcomed by the Dean and enjoyed a splendid lunch in Hall before visiting the cathedral to see the Bell Altar, carved from a block of oak given by Her Majesty in memory of Bishop Bell.
Cricket Victory
The Christ Church 1st XI cricket team beat Trinity College, Oxford in Cuppers yesterday. Alex Phillips was top-scorer with 42, and JCR President Will Dorsey scored a useful 29 from down the order. Final score was 143/7.

Sue Cunningham, Development Director at Christ Church, Oxford, has been appointed as Director of Development for the University of Oxford. Sue has been at Christ Church for five years and has overseen a major Capital Campaign.Sue Cunningham said:
Bishop Richard Blesses Oils
The Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd Richard Harries, celebrated the Holy Week Eucharist for the Blessing of the Oils in the Cathedral on Tuesday 11th April. This was Bishop Richard's last Blessing of the Oils service as he retires in June.
Katya Andreyev becomes Assessor
In March Dr Katya Andreyev took over the important Oxford University role of Assessor for the coming year, during which time she will have leave from her role at Christ Church as History Tutor. This picture shows her departing for the ceremony accompanied by the Dean.
Recent Discoveries on Tom Quad
Recent excavations to update gas and electricity services on Tom Quad unearthed a number of interesting things, including the fourteenth century guardrobe shown here, human remains, a section of ancient roadway, the floor of another building and part of the foundation for Cardinal Wolsey's unfinished chapel. The human remains have been re-interred within the guardrobe where they will be undisturbed.
