Dirk Obbink and the Scanner of Secrets

Christ Church Open Day 2011 - UPDATED

On Saturday 10th September 2011 Christ Church opened its doors to the public for free, inviting people to come and have a look ‘behind the scenes’ at college and cathedral life! 

 

Admissions 2011

A-level results have been released to students across the country today. Congratulations to all those who have met the terms of their conditional offers for an undergraduate place at Christ Church! We look forward very much to welcoming you here.

 

ARC International Cathedral Welcomers

A group of young adults drawn from across Europe are working in the cathedral from July 17th to August 5th, offering guided tours in a range of languages.

Rambert Ballet School

From 19-22 July The Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance return to the cathedral this summer with performances at 12noon and 2pm on Wednesday 20 July and Friday 22 July, and at 1pm and 3pm on Tuesday 19 July and Thursday 21 July.

Teach First Success

At a ceremony in the Deanery on 22 June, the Dean presented finalists Tom Middlehurst and Juan McLean with the inaugural Christ Church Teach First Bursaries.

 

Richard Wade-Martins' Parkinson's break through

Christ Church medical tutor Richard Wade-Martins' research team have begun creating a bank of artificially-grown brain cells from Parkinson’s patients to try to find a cure for the disease, reports the BBC this week.

Michelle Obama visits Christ Church

Michelle Obama visited Christ Church on Wednesday May 25th. In the Great Hall she addressed students from the University of Oxford and pupils from the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson language college in Islington, and answered their questions.

From London to Christ Church Bike Ride

On Sunday 22nd of May seventy five cyclists made the journey from London to Christ Church in Oxford to raise money for the Christchurch New Zealand disaster appeal. It was a great day and by the evening the cyclists had already raised £15,835. They set off at lunchtime and all but two made the whole trip.
