Forty days after the birth of Christ, the Christmas and Epiphany season comes to a close with the Feast of the Presentation, also known as Candlemas.

On this day, we celebrate Jesus' Presentation in the Temple in Jerusalem, and his with it his revelation as 'a light to the nations and the glory of God's people'.

We begin with a Choral Eucharist in the morning, before a candle-lit Solemn Evensong, during which you are invited to join us on a short procession around the Cathedral. Candles will be provided!

Choral Eucharist for Candlemas: 11.05 am - 12.05 pm
Followed by Refreshments

Solemn Evensong and Candlemas Procession: 6.05 pm - 7.15 pm

Please note that we will be celebrating the Feast of Candlemas on the transferred date of Sunday 1st this year, rather than Monday 2nd.

The congregastion hold candles at a Cathedral carol service while singing a hymn
