Casual Hall Assistants

Casual Custodian (Visitor Services Assistant)

£14.06 per hour

Casual - Variable hours according to the rota

Summary

Christ Church are seeking an enthusiastic, confident and reliable Casual Custodian with excellent customer service and strong communication skills to join our Visitor Services team.

The ideal applicant will provide a professional and friendly welcome to our visitors to ensure an exceptional experience as well as supervise the arrival, entry and progress of visitors through the college and follow all policies and procedures to maintain the safety of everyone on site.

Chef de Partie

University Scale Grade 4 (currently £29,761 to £33,810 per annum depending on experience)

Permanent, 40 hours per week – variable as per the roster

Summary

Christ Church invites applications for a suitably experienced Chef de Partie to join their kitchen team.

The Chef de Partie plays a vital role in the kitchen team at Christ Church. The post-holder will have experience within a similar environment and have knowledge of all sections of the kitchen to prepare and provide excellent quality dishes using their own initiative. The Chef de Partie is responsible for preparing and cooking dishes in accordance with standard recipes or following the guidance of the Head Chef/ Sous Chefs, and assisting with the development and creativity of new menus as requested by the Head Chef.

Health, Safety and Compliance Officer

£35,681 to £41,636 per annum (University Grade 6) depending on experience

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Christ Church are recruiting an experienced and proactive Health, Safety and Compliance Officer to lead and coordinate health, safety, regulatory compliance and risk management across the college’s operations. This is a highly visible and operational role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence across academic, ecclesiastical, educational, and commercial environments.

Stipendiary Clerk (tenor)

£13,500 per annum

Part-time, fixed term contract for one year, starting 1 September 2026.

Summary

Christ Church is seeking to appoint a talented Stipendiary Clerk (tenor) with experience of singing to a professional standard in a significant ecclesiastical setting. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a well-developed singing voice of appropriate range and quality, together with a high level of technical proficiency and excellent musicianship, particularly in sight-reading.

The role of Stipendiary Clerk (tenor) is ideally suited to an early-career singer seeking to broaden their experience and develop their skills working alongside the permanent music staff in one of the country’s leading choral foundations. The role is often combined with a portfolio of other singing work.

Stipendiary Lecturership in Modern British and European History

£25,358 - £28,004 (current rates) per annum, according to qualifications and experience

Fixed – term for one year 1 October 2026 – 30 September 2027

Summary

Christ Church invites applications for a fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in Modern British and European History. 

This is a part-time temporary, fixed-term position to fulfil a current teaching need arising from Professor Young’s sabbatical leave for the period 1 October 2026 – 30 September 2027 therefore, the appointment carries with it no expectation of permanent employment at Christ Church.
