Messiaen: La Nativité du Seigneur - Organ Meditation for Advent

Join us in the Cathedral for a musical Advent meditation based around Messiaen's La Nativité du Seigneur, performed on the Rieger organ by our Sub Organist, Richard Moore, and Organ Scholars George Balfour and Michael Chesters. 

Olivier Messiaen’s prayerful organ cycle responding to the birth of Christ forms the heart of this evening’s service. The music will be joined by readings from scripture and poetry and prayers led by our clergy to lead is into our final week of preparation and waiting for the coming of Christ. 

This special service replaces our usual worship offering of Evensong on this day.

This performance is offered as an act of worship, and no booking is required.
