The Solemn Liturgy of Good Friday
3 April, 10:05–11:05
Cathedral Service
Cathedral
On the morning of Good Friday, we gather to remember the Passion of Jesus. The service begins in the same silence that was kept through the night. We hear the story of Jesus' crucifixion and death with a sung Passion Gospel. A great cross, representing the cross on which Jesus died, becomes a symbol of the paradox of Good Friday: that through suffering, God brings healing and hope to all. The service ends again in silence, in preparation for its conclusion in the final part of the sacred triduum on Holy Saturday.
