The Watch

Like the disciples, we keep silent vigil in the night with Jesus following our remembrance of the Last Supper. Christ is symbolized by the consecrated bread on the altar of the Lady Chapel, while greenery placed around reminds us of the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus awaited his arrest. The Cathedral will be open until midnight - simply ask at the Lodge on St Aldates and you will be admitted. You are very welcome to join us in reflection as we prepare for Good Friday.
